Our History

ONTOR was established in 1948 by Charles and John Elder and is now headed by Robert Elder.

There are three distinct sales divisions, each with their own support staff consisting of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) division, Industrial Systems Division (ISD) division and the Romark Division. Ontor has six regional offices that are located across Canada.

The original business was established with products being sold to HVAC Manufacturers and Wholesale customers. This division still continues to thrive as we meet new and changing challenges. We have also added third party logistics services in order to ensure our customers receive our suppliers' products just in time. In the 1950's Mechanical and Instrumentation products were added forming what has evolved into our Industrial Systems Division. In 1979, we were appointed as an Application Engineering Distributor for a major programmable logic controller manufacturer.

Over the years more products were added: Operator Interface, Software, Vision, Motion Control, Safety, Low Voltage Motor Controls, Drives, and Industrial Computers and Software. These products are widely sold to end users and OEM's to automate their production and processing facilities. Working closely with System Integrators allows us to provide our customers with total solutions.
