The Spirovent® Air Eliminator employs a patented Spirotube® coalescing medium that ”scrubs” the air from the system fluid. Simple to install with a straight in-line design it is available in the Junior Series for residential and light commercial applications from ¾” to 1-½” pipe size. Solid brass construction, integral patented air release mechanism and a 20 year limited warranty.

Commercial units are fabricated steel and available from 2” through 36” pipe size and can handle flows to over 30,000 GPM. Custom fabrication is available for special project requirements. For large high velocity systems the ”HV” Series is available specifically for central plants and district systems where large volumes of water are being distributed

The air/water mixture enters the Spirovent and the Spirotube coalescing medium combined with a drop in velocity allows the air to break free of the flow path. All free and entrained air is removed through the integral vent mechanism along with up to 99.6% of the dissolved air. The need for frequent venting, bleeding and purging is eliminated along with air related gurgling and waterfall noises in the piping.

The Spirotop® Air Release Valve is essentially the vent head used on all products through 12”. It has a ½” bottom connection and can be used in places where other float vents have been used. Carries a 20 year Limited Warranty and is designed not to leak by means of a dry air chamber.

Spirovent and Spirotrap models are used extensively in commercial and industrial applications. These can include hot and chilled water, condenser water as well as process systems and special fluids.

Campus Housing and Apartment managers have found a drastic reduction in no heat or poor cooling calls from residents after the installation of a Spirovent. One campus apartment complex alone has installed over 40 units.

Gurgling and waterfall noises in the piping disappear once a Spirovent is installed. Pumps quiet down, heat transfer improves and the system is able to perform according to design with less strain on components. Building occupants and tenants have remarked about the positive changes.

Seeing the benefits when retrofitting existing systems, many institutional facilities now have Spirovents and Spirotraps as their standard specification for all new construction.

RESIDENTIAL Information

The hot water heating system, like the one installed in your home, is responsible for a comfortable temperature in all rooms. The water is heated in the boiler and carried through the system releasing heat through radiators, baseboard or radiant tubing as it flows. Water contains air and dirt that are the causes of annoying noises and in some cases, costly maintenance.

The standard built-in automatic air vent on the boiler is not capable of creating permanently air- free system water. The Spirovent eliminates all air from a system in a simple but very effective way by using a patented coalescing medium that “scrubs” the air from the water.

Dirt may already be in the system in the form of sand or residue from pipes, joints and radiators. The other dirt that is produced on a constant basis is caused by the combination of steel, water and air. This chemical reaction leads to dirt called magnetite. It damages the components of the system and can lead to expensive repairs. The Spirotrap cleans your entire system very efficiently down to particles of 5 microns in size.

Condenser water systems and open towers are susceptible to a variety of foreign matter from the atmosphere. Installation of Spirovents or Spirotraps can improve pump performance while removing the dirt and sediment.

Incoming domestic water lines can also benefit from the efficient dirt separation capabilities of the Spirotrap products. The removable head feature allows access to the Spirotube bundle for inspection.
