A panel interface connector (PIC) is a device that is mounted to the outside of a panel enclosure that houses a programmable controller or computer. The PIC allows the user to interface the controller or computer without opening the panel door, thereby eliminating the potential safety hazards associated with having an open electrical panel.

The standard PIC contains one or more of the connections that are used to interface a PLC, computer or other device that is commonly housed inside a control panel.

Front panel interface - Modlink MSDD

For diagnostic or service reasons, machines and systems must be connected to peripheral devices, such as laptops, PCs, programming devices or printers. The Modlink MSDD front panel interfaces from Murrelektronik are designed for connection to the outside world.

Using Modlink MSDD, you can plug in external devices without opening the control cabinet. Country-specific sockets allow the device to be installed worldwide. In fact, the modular design with individual data plug connectors offers over 4000 plug combinations.
