REER started its safety sensor business in the mid 1970’s and quickly became the market leader for safety light barriers in Italy. Today, REER manufacturers and sells its safety products across Europe and North America. The safety light curtain line is one of the most complete offerings in the market, a safety laser scanner line has been added recently as well .

The Machine Directive marked a turning point for accident prevention in Europe; the introduction of the CE-marked models meant a further strengthening of REER market presence. In January 1998 the Safety Division quality system was certified by TUV as being in compliance with ISO 9001. The main models are now UL-labeled (both for US and Canada) as well as CE-marked. Reer’s certifications meet the demands of the global machinery business.
