SCALANCE X - Ethernet Switches SCALANCE X is a product family available from SIMATIC NET, which comprises Industrial Ethernet switches. Switches are active network components, which distribute data to the relevant adressee in a targeted manner. The SCALANCE X product group consists of various modular product lines, which are matched to the appropriate automation tasks.
SCALANCE X005 - Entry Level If you are looking for a cost-effective solution for building small star or linear topologies with switching functionality in machine or plant islands - then the Entry Level Switch X005 in the SCALANCE X product range is just what you need! The SCALANCE X005 is an unmanaged switch with a robust metal housing (IP30 protection), which offers automatic transmission speed recognition through autosensing. Space-saving housing concept for installation in the control cabinet, on a 35mm standard mounting rail, S7-300 rail, or for mounting directly on the wall. 5 electrical 10/100Mbits RJ45 ports Diagnostic LED's provide information on power, link status, and data traffic.
SCALANCE X-100 Unmanaged You want to set up an industry-standard, reliable network solution in a harsh industrial environment and you can do without unnecessary equipment details for a cost-effective solution; then you are right on target with the switches of the unmanaged SCALANCE X-100 product line! SCALANCE S for Industrial Security The SCALANCE S security modules are the core of the groundbreaking security concept from Siemens for protecting networks and data. The SCALANCE S protection function controls all data traffic to and from the cell. Like network components, the security modules are simply connected upstream from the devices which are to be protected. PLCs are protected without having to possess their own security functions. Equipping all PLCs with their own security functionality is not meaningful from a technical point of view nor is it economical. The cell concept, on the other hand, offers a very efficient way to also protect existing networks.
