NEW, ..Three Phase Solid State Contactors for Motor Loads - 3RF24

The new SIRIUS 3-phase solid-state contactors are, for example, used in conveyor technology applications for the switching and reversing of parcel conveyor belts or palleting machines. Also these devices offer a quiet switching behavior and are therefore suitable for all noise-sensitive applications.

The integration of four current paths in a reversing circuit accommodated in a single enclosure turns this device into a particularly compact solution. Compared to conventional systems, for which two contactors are required, the three-phase reversing contactors facilitate space savings of up to 50% of the width.

3RF24 Product Range

  • These two-phase controlled, instantaneous switching solid-state contactors embedded in an insulated enclosure
  • Solid-state contactors are able to operate motor applications up to 7.5 kW.
  • Solid-state reversing contactors are able to operate motor applications up to 3 kW.

Advantages at a Glance

  • Signaling of actuation via LED (two LED's for reversing contactor)
  • Space-saving assembly thanks to compact design
  • Simple plug-in connection of control cable
  • Safe from finger-touch without accessories

Thanks to their integration in the SIRIUS modular system, the solid-state contactors can be easily extended to assemble complete motor feeders. The terminals in the main circuit are designed in a way which allows for the devices’ connection to a SIRIUS motor starter protector by means of a conventional link module. For a fast and compact assembly of fuseless motor feeders. Alternatively, also fused motor feeders can be realized by simply mounting a solid-state SIRIUS overload relay to the outputs of the solid-state contactor.

1-Phase Solid State Contactors for Resistive Loads - 3RF23

The SIRIUS solid-state contactors comprise a solid-state relay plus optimized heat sink and are therefore "ready-to-use".

Depending on the design, currents up to 88 A are reached. Like all our solid-state switching devices, they also boast an impressively compact and space-saving design. The insulated mounting foot means they are simply snapped onto DIN mounting rails or mounted onto supporting plates using fixing screws. This insulation permits their use in switching circuits with protective or functional extra-low voltages as used in building service management systems. If required for other applications, e.g. for extended personnel protection, the heat sink can also be grounded by means of a screw terminal.

In order to ensure an optimized control process for different loads, our solid-state contactors are available in a range of versions. The optimum process for resistive loads has proven to be zero switching; however, the instantaneous switching process is better suited for slightly inductive loads.

  • Space-saving assembly thanks to slim design, ...only 22.5 mm wide upto 20 A.
  • Control Voltages: 4...30 VDC, 24 VDC, 110...230 VAC
  • Rated Operating Voltages: 24...230, 230....460, 400....600 VAC
  • Rated Operating Current: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, 90 Amps
  • Simple plug-in connection of control cable

3-Phase Solid State Contactors for Resistive Loads - 3RF24

The SIRIUS 3-phase zero-point switching solid-state contactors are especially used for 3-phase applications. With just five versions, they cover the current range from 10 to 50 A and are available as 2- and 3-phase controlled versions.

The 2-phase controlled version distinguishes itself as a result of having the lowest power loss; the 3-phase version can be used when all three phases must be switched in operation.

The wide control voltage range from 4 to 30 V facilitates operation in digital controls (PLCs) or simple temperature regulators.

1-Phase Solid State Relays - 3RF21

SIRIUS solid state relays are suitable for installation on existing cooling surfaces. Depending on the characteristics of the cooling surfaces, the working capacity of the relay extends up to 90 A resistive load. Requiring only two screws, assembly is quick and easy. The special technology of the power semiconductor ensures good thermal contact with the heat sink.

  • Space-saving assembly thanks to slim design, ...only 22.5 mm wide
  • Control Voltages: 4...30 VDC, 24 VDC, 110...230 VAC
  • Rated Operating Voltages: 24...230, 230....460, 400....600 VAC

3-Phase Solid State Relays - 3RF22

The SIRIUS 3-phase zero-point switching solid-state relays have a compact 45 mm width – saving space and offering a competitively priced solution to switch 3-phase loads.

Depending on the heat sink used, loads of up to 55 A can be switched.

Furthermore, you can select between 2- and 3-phase controlled versions. The 2-phase controlled version distinguishes itself as a result of having the lowest power loss; the 3-phase version can be used when all three phases must be switched in operation.

Essentially the same as our 3RF21 solid- state relays, the power is connected at the top and the load at the bottom. The control circuit can be pre-wired thanks to the removable control connector.

1-Phase Solid State Relays - 3RF20

For use in conventional setups, we also offer the SIRIUS solid state relays in 45-mm overall width. This enables replacement of solid state relays in existing setups. They support top connection of the power supply line and the load. As with the 22.5 mm version, this version also allows space-saving connection of the control line. Depending on the characteristics of the cooling surfaces, the working capacity of the relay extends up to 90 A resistive load. The key outstanding features of this device are its simple assembly with only two screws and the special technology of the power semiconductor.

  • The 45 mm wide design allows it to be installed in existing circuits, for easy replacement
  • Control Voltages: 4...30 VDC, 24 VDC, 110...230 VAC
  • Rated Operating Voltages: 24...230, 230....460, 400....600 VAC
  • Rated Operating Current: 20, 30, 50, 70, 90 Amps
  • Simple plug-in connection of control cable

Solid-State Function Modules - 3RF29

Click and use, ....our function modules almost mount themselves. All of the connections to the solid-state relay or contactors are established when the modules are snapped-on. The plug connections to control the solid-state devices can still be used. It could hardly be simpler

Converter module

Using this module, analog control signals are converted into a pulse-width modulated digital signal. Many temperature controllers output these types of analog signals. This means that the connected solid-state contactors and relays can set the power of a load as a percentage depending on an input signal.

  • Control Voltage: 24 VDC
  • Width 22.5mm

Load Monitoring Modules

Many faults can be quickly detected by using this module to monitor a load circuit connected to a solid-state switching device. Detected faults include failed load elements (up to 6 in the basic version or up to 12 in the extended version), destroyed power semiconductors, missing voltages or interrupted load circuits. A fault is displayed using one or several LED's and signaled to the control system using a PLC combatible output.

Basic Version - 22.5 mm wide

  • Monitors up to 6 partial loads
  • Control Voltage: 24 VDC
  • Current Measuring Range: 0.65 - 20 Amps

Extended Version - 45 mm wide

  • Monitors up to 12 partial loads
  • Control Voltages: 24 VAC/DC, 110 VAC
  • Operating Voltages: 110...230, 400...600 VAC
