YOU ARE HERE: ISD / Manufacturer / Pilz / Machine Safety / Safety Interface Relays
The safety relay product range is one of the cornerstones of safe control technology at PILZ. In 1968 Pilz developed the first two-hand control relay, followed in 1987 by the first emergency stop relay PNOZ, designed to protect both man and machine. Other applications followed, and the combination of technical expertise and innovative ideas produced safety relays to cover all technical safety requirements. The PNOZ has been approved by TÜV, BG and many other standards institutions and offers users considerable benefits, for example, saving the laborious process of wiring relays when constructing a safety-related circuit.
PNOZ Safety Relays for all Applications:
- E-Stop
- Safety Gates
- Light Curtains
- Muting Light Curtains
- Safety Mats
- Two Hand Controls
- Safety Timing Relays
PNOZ® product ranges - optimum safety solution for each application
| PNOZ X Range Units from the PNOZ X series were introduced to the market in 1996. They were the first series to have the yellow housing and two terminal blocks. PNOZ X units are also available with plug-in terminals. Technically they are based on electromechanical contacts using two relay technology. Sizes vary from 22.5 to 90 mm.

| PNOZ elog Range Pilz has now brought a new generation of PNOZ on to the market: a series of electronic safety relays. This innovative series adds the advantages of modern electronics to the classic electromechanical PNOZ: wear-resistance, safety, long service life and high availability ensure it is cost-effective to use. |
| PNOZ multi Range With the development of the PNOZmulti, Pilz is launching the world's first freely configurable PNOZ. The modular electronic safety system for functions such as E-STOP, safety gates, light barriers, two-hand and many more, consists of a base unit and several expansion modules

| PNOZ power Range PNOZpower is a new range of safety relays for monitoring E-Stops, safety gates and light barriers, in proven modular technology. Safety relays are used as standard as the controlling element in control cabinets. The maximum breaking capacity is 6 to 8 amperes AC/DC. That is generally sufficient for shutting down the control circuit. Until now it has not been possible to switch higher capacities directly, i.e. without interconnecting relays. PNOZpower can switch currents up to 16 A AC/DC per contact. An overall breaking capacity of 40 A is available per module. In each case, external relays and relay combinations are no longer required. The base module processes the inputs; the output modules are specifically matched to the respective load. The number and capacity of the required safety contacts can be scaled, depending on the application. A maximum of 4 modules can be connected to the base unit. Modules are wired to the base unit via an internal bus system
| | PNOZ SIGMA PRODUCT RANGE - Maximum function in minimum width
The new compact safety relays PNOZsigma combine Pilz's many years of experience with today's very latest safety technology: with minimum effort you can achieve the maximum in safety and economy. With particularly narrow housing widths and multifunctionality compressed into each unit, PNOZsigma offers maximum functionality in minimum width. As of now you can implement safety technology that saves more space, is more flexible, is quicker, and therefore more efficient.
PNOZsigma monitors safety-related functions such as E-STOP, safety gate, light curtain or two-hand control on independent stand-alone machines. Just a few unit types cover a wide range of applications. | |
