Load Feeders with Safety Integrated Functions

The SIRIUS Safety Integrated Load Feeders (3RA71.0)

….. Safe Control, ..... 3 Devices in 1

Up until now, isolated and safe switching always represented additional costs. External switching devices had to be subsequently mounted/installed and connected up. That not only cost time and money, but represented a source of potential faults. That was the situation – because today we are offering our electronic safety functionality and two redundant SIRIUS auxiliary contactors, with contacts, in a preassembled, wired and tested device that is certified. This electronic safety combination is snapped as a complete device onto a mounting rail. Straightforward, safe and fast.

Specific Product Highlights
  • Pre-assembled and pre-wired package consists of Electronic Safety Relay, and two Redundant Contactors
  • For the seperate mounting of fuses or circuit breaker
  • Rated control supply voltage - 24 VDC or 230 VAC
  • Safe control of motors up to 11kW (22.5 amps) at 400 VAC
  • Connection of conventional and electronic sensors
  • Certified up to Category 3 or 4 acc. to EN 954-1 and Safety Integrity Level (SIL 2 or 3) acc. to IEC 61508
  • Expansion Units available with either instantaneous (Stop Category 0) or time delayed (Stop Category 1)
  • Cascadable using the Safe Solid State Output and Input
  • Mounts on 35mm DIN rial

Key Benefits

  • Faults are minimized and costs reduced as the devices are factory pre-wired
  • Easily create hard wired safety logic with a single wire between multiple Failsafe Feeders.
  • High mechanical and electrical endurance
  • Low mounting/installation costs

The SIRIUS Safety Integrated Load Feeders (3RA71)

….. completely protected Safe Control, ..... 4 Devices in 1

A highlight of the Safety Integrated "safety package" is the 3RA71 fail-safe load feeder. This combines the features of our electronic safety combinations with the advantages of the SIRIUS modular system. The combination of fail-safe electronics in conjunction with the combination of a motor starter protector and two series-connected motor contactors produces a complete, pre-mounted, wired, tested and certified fail-safe load feeder which, depending on the model, fulfils Cat. 3 or 4 according to EN 954-1.

For small machine tools and processing machines with a single motor, such as a mill, the fail-safe load feeder combines the function of fuseless branch protected motor starter, with an integrated "EMERGENCY STOP" shutdown circuit. ISince the the fuseless load feeder version also has an integrated Motor Starter Protector (MSP), the output is protected against overloads and short circuits and operating personnel are protected by the fail-safe electronics in the event of an "EMERGENCY STOP" shutdown. And if your machine/plant is equipped with more than one motor, simply interconnect several 3RA7 fail-safe load feeders.

These are then actuated in a group shutdown from a single "EMERGENCY STOP" switch. Cascading and expansion options mean that safety logics can be expanded simply and easily. Wiring is reduced to a minimum due to the "single-wire connection" thus reducing both labour and costs. Optimum protection of the drives, as well as optimum switching, can be achieved using the "Normal switching duty" option.

Same great features as above in the 3RA71.0 with the addition of:

  • Fuseless due to integrated Motor Starter Protector (MSP)
  • MSP gives you overload protection (adjustable setting range from 0.11 to 22 amps over the range of product)
  • MSP also gives you short-circuit protection (max. rating 50kA at 400 VAC)
  • Safe control of motors up to 7.5kW (15.5amps) at 400 VAC
  • Stop Category 0 (Instantaneous) or Category 1 (Time Delayed) base units available

Key Benefits

  • Faults are minimized and costs reduced as the devices are factory pre-wired
  • Easily create hard wired safety logic with a single wire between multiple Failsafe Feeders.
  • High mechanical and electrical endurance
  • Low mounting/installation costs
