Ontor Limited hits its 60th Anniversary
Ontor Limited is excited to announce that in 2008, it has reached a major milestone, its 60th anniversary. Ontor is a privately owned, family business that was incorporated in 1948 by the father and son team of Charles and John Elder. John’s son, Robert is now President of the company and continues the tradition of growth and customer focused excellence.
Many changes have occurred in the HVAC business over the past 60 years, but Ontor has nicely blended the past and present. In fact, to this day, Ontor still distributes the first two HVAC lines it ever represented – Delavan Nozzles and Field Controls. In total, Ontor is now responsible for a large number of the quality HVAC/R product lines stocked centrally in it’s 30,000 ft Toronto Headquarters.
Initially, Ontor earned business through word of mouth, so it had to ensure the very best in quality products and customer service in order to become a trusted supplier. A lot has changed over the years, but these same values are still at the core of Ontor’s business today. Ontor’s management team realizes that another key to success is keeping abreast of industry issues. For this reason, Ontor is an active member of numerous industry associations including: COHA, HRAI, NHRAW and RSES to name a few. Ontor prides itself on seeking new ways to adapt its products and services to meet the needs of its customers. Smaller and lighter, the new SDX V features an upgraded internal design that reduces pressure loss through the nozzle. The new nozzle delivers a hollow cone spray pattern of uniform particle size even at low operating pressures. Because of its reduced friction, the new SDX V nozzle delivers atomization quality equal to that of conventional slotted-type nozzles – at 10 to 20 percent lower operating pressure. Lower pressure operation can significantly extend pump life. Operating temperatures and pressures can be as high as 200oC and 500 Bar G respectively.
Delavan’s patented single inlet spiral swirl chamber offers increased nozzle life, along with improved product uniformity, density and solubility. Delavan’s single inlet design extends the product’s life cycle to three times the conventional slotted inlet nozzle. The nozzle features easy to assemble /interchangeable five-piece construction and tungsten carbide wear parts with silicon or Viton O-rings. Nozzle installation requires no wrenches or tools.
